HB2127 – Help Us Move it Along

Friends of Film in Arizona,

Good news! Our Multimedia Production Incentives bill, HB2127 (NEW NAME), is on the Senate Appropriations Committee agenda for tomorrow, Tuesday, at 10 a.m.

Thanks goes out to all of you who contacted Senator Melvin as he helped make this possible. Your combined efforts have kept this bill advancing, and now there is more work to do.

Members of the Appropriations Committee are listed [on the SB1170/HB2127 Toolbox Page of this website], and we’d like you to contact them to ask for their continued support; all these members have voted for a Film Incentive bill as many as 4 times in the last two years. Below is a suggested script. If you work in the industry or your business benefits from it, please mention that as well.

“We ask for your continued support of HB2127, the striker for the Multimedia Production Incentive, which will be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee tomorrow. You have always been a strong supporter of this bill, of tourism and of Arizona’s legendary film industry; we appreciate your continued support in Appropriations and again on the Senate floor.”

There will be floor votes after HB2127 passes out of Appropriations. Our plan is that it lands on the Governor’s desk just before the studios start making location decisions for the upcoming fall TV series’ production season.

Best,
Shelli
